Microsoft announced its biggest investment in Malaysia to Support cloud and AI transformation

Today, Microsoft announced its biggest investment around 2.2B in Malaysia, to empower Malaysia with cloud and AI.

This investment includes, building digital infra, creating skilling opportunities, establishment of a national AI center of excellence, enhancing nation’s cyber security and overall supporting its overall AI transformation.

This investment will be done in next four-year time period to support Malaysia’s digital transformation.

This investment will be done:

  • Building cloud and AI infra in Malaysia
  • Creating AI upskilling opportunities for an additional 2 Lac people in Malaysia
  • Excellence and enhance its cyber security measures
  • Strengthening its relations with Malaysian Government
  • Establishment of a national AI excellence center in Malaysia
  • Supporting growth of Malaysia’s developer community

This investment has a potential to develop Malaysia as a cloud computing hub and related advanced technologies including Generative AI.
