What people expect from the budget?

In this article, I will share the expectation of a common man from the budget, in this article I will try to keep my reach to the people on margins as well, so let’s begin:

  • The topmost expectation from budget is tax relief, individuals and businesses often expect some relief in tax rates. They expect that some measures should be provided in the budget which leads to more exemptions and encourage investments.
  • Inflation control is the second most expectation of everyone. They need some measures must be introduced in budget which offers a better control on Inflation, people expect that there are the policies which must take care of stable prices for essential goods and services.
  • With the increasing population, there is a need of roads, highways, railways, airlines, metros, bridges, urban development measures including developing villages and rural areas. People expect that the budget will introduce a concrete infra development policies with a clear-cut time frames.
  • Job creation is of the utmost importance when we talk about budget, more particularly when unemployment rate is high, people’s expectation to provide the job creation measures also increases.
  • Ease of doing business is also expected to be taken care of in the budget. Businesses expect simplify rules and regulations including simple procedures related to mandatory filings and lesser punitive measures for inadvertent defaults.
  • Expectation for reform measures in Education, allocation of funds to improve the quality of education, establishment of new colleges, universities, conduction of fair exams, easy access of education to all, are higher.
  • Health and Social welfare sector Are also expected to be taken a care in the budget.  Expansion and better implementation of social welfare schemes, measures for poverty alleviation, food security, social justice, social responsibility and providing a better health environment to the common man of India.
  • Digital and technological advancement is considered to be taken care of in the budget as any nation’s progress is not possible without these.
  • Agri Reforms should be in the most important items list in any budget, subsidies, insurance, loan waivers, providing infra support to the farmers and villages.
  • Environmental sustainability should be in the list of Top priorities of any budget, increasing awareness of environmental issues leads to the expectation for policies that promote sustainable development and development of renewable energy sources.

                       A good budget may certainly have more measures to consider, the list of expectation I have provided hare is not exhaustive, you can include any valid expectation as per your need and experience.
