National Urban Health Mission under Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of U.P. has launched various schemes for the benefit of residents of the State. Three such initiatives are explained below. These schemes can benefit the businesses too. Let us see how?
- Aam Admi Bima Yojna- It provides life coverage to unorganized sector. It was launched in 2007 by Life Insurance Corporation. It provides life insurance to the insured. Rs. 30,000/- is paid in case of natural death of earning member of family, Rs. 75,000/- is the payment in case of accidental death. Also, Rs. 37,500/- is paid in case of partial or permanent disability due to an accident. It also covers natural calamities. The condition is – the annual income should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-.
- Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna- Daily wage laborers, rickshaw pullers have higher risk of life. They suffer from frequent illness and injury. So this scheme provides health insurance coverage to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. Total sum insured is Rs. 30,000/- per family per year. Annual Renewal fee of Rs. 30/- is charged from beneficiary, rest premium if paid by government.
- PMost uandit Deendayal Upadhyay Rajya Karmchari Cashless Chikitsa Yojna- It provides health insurance by giving cashless treatment facility to UP State Government and Retired employees as well as their dependents. Rs. 5 lakh per year per family in Private Hospitals. On the other hand, for Government Medical Colleges, there is no financial limit.
